Well I have the dash installed...Mostly anyway. Here are some pics with the 2000 maxima inst. cluster installed. Turned out pretty good and it looks pretty neat at night. I also installed the new KYB AGX front struts. Now that I have the switches back for the blinkers and wipers, I've started driving the car to work even though the speedometer and alternator are currently not hooked up (I charge the battery after every trip and try to conserve electrical power). I figure it is good to drive it so I get a better idea of what else needs to be done. I hope to get the alternator and speedometer hooked up in the next few days.Still plenty to do before it is finished but atleast I can drive it.

Latest on the car. I found that I didn't really need longer tie rod ends. Turns out that when I rough aligned the front end I did it when the car was on jack stands. After on the ground the alignment changed substantially. I re adjusted and it drives much better. The old front struts are worn out. I ordered some new ones and just need to put them on. Other things done:sound deading back on the firewallcarpet back inmore wiring completedPCV system hooked up

After drilling out the spot welds and removing the brackets that held the passive seat belt track I was able to test fit the '86 trim. It looked like it will fit good. The problem is the head liner. It looks like the '91 head liner is shorter so it does not come all the way down to the trim. Humm.... I think I will be able to fill that gap better than where the belt tracks were. or something I'll have to look at it some more. It was 1:00 am at the time and I was kind of tired.Looks like soon I will be painting the plastic.

Well I finally got the exhaust connected. It is very nice to have. My front end alignment is way off. I need to get that done. However due to relocating the steering rack I need longer tie rod ends first. I'll see if I can get some then get it aligned.I still have lots to do.Here's a couple of pics.

I'm thinking of taking the magnetic pickup from something like that and feeding it through a dakota digital converter and then to the speedometer

Well I'm still waiting on some exhaust parts. In the mean time I removed the passive (motorized) seat belts and installed normal manual ones. I am going to install a instrument cluster from a 2000maxima. I've been sorting through all the wiring. It's getting old. Anyway I went to hook up the speed sensor from the trans to the speedometer (electric speedometer) and I found there isn't one. From what I read in the 350z factory service manual the speed signal comes from the ABS sensors. Oh goodie. Nothing can be easy can it? I think I'll work on the heater next so I can put the carpet and dash back in the car. Who needs a speedometer anyway
